On Strategy to cope... I've seen a number of stores that open at different times/hours. Initially you'd think its because they want to setup displays for the rush, but I had to step to Walmart yesterday for Laundry Soap. and you could tell the look up time and close out of the self checking registers was a little slow. It almost felt like they were working on closing out the day in advance, to free space and resources for the inevitieble in store and online rush. I think more stores have been doing this in recent years.
