Tonight Kim Cooper & Al Graham sit down with Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist Ross Rebagliati

Ross won the Gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano Japan during his epic run on the snowboard course. Then the Olympic committee confiscated that medal after Ross tested positive for cannabis. The medal was later reinstated, due to cannabis not being listed on the banned substances list as “performance enhancing”.
Even though the medal was returned, the stigma perpetuated caused him to lose sponsorships and focus was now on cannabis, instead of his sport. This ultimately forced him out of the competitive sports world. He has been quoted as saying “I wasn’t recognized for what I had accomplished but for something illegal”

The ordeal left Ross shaken, but not dissuaded. He wanted his experience and publicity behind it all to mean something. So instead of shying away, he stood up. He wanted to give meaning to what he had gone through and became a spokesperson for the benefits of cannabis, turning adversity into entrepreneurial success.

Ross’ Gold was born, and it began with a line of glass paraphernalia, creating the first bong made with real gold. Since then, they have expanded into creating a line of cannabis consumption products, in keeping with the medalists Gold, Silver & Bronze Olympic theme.
