Ron Bersin, the executive director of the Oregon Ethics Commission joins us. He’ll tell us more about the investigation into allegations of conflict of interest and other violations of state ethics laws against former Governor John Kitzhaber and his fiance, former first lady Cylvia Hayes. The report on Hayes was released in January, and the commission voted last week to accept 10 of the 11 findings in the report looking specifically at the former governor’s actions. Questions surrounding Hayes and alleged conflicts of interest ultimately lead Kitzhaber to step down from office in early 2015, shortly after winning a historic fourth term as governor.
