The poems in Alicia Jo Rabins’ “Fruit Geode,” her second collection, speak to inhabiting a flesh and blood body, one that breaks open both literally and figuratively. She also writes about the breathtaking love of a parent, and poems that draw on Jewish mysticism firmly rooted in everyday life. Rabins is also a musician, a Torah teacher, and what she calls a “ritualist” in Portland.
