ACT Party leader David Seymour says the government needs to keep track of how many lunches are going uneaten, and why.
However, Papatoetoe High School Principal Vaughan Couillault told Heather du Plessis-Allan that none of their lunches are going to waste.
He says that by they let people come back for a second round or take them home.
"We have all sorts of ways and means to make sure there's no waste."
