Novelist, playwright, television writer, screenwriter, comedian: the list of Ben Elton’s achievements goes on.
His career started in television in 1981, and he created hits like to write award winning TV shows Blackadder and The Young Ones, 16 novels, 9 stage shows, 2 feature films and he’s one of the UKs most successful stand-up comedians.
In the early 2000’s Ben worked closely alongside Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor to create We Will Rock You, a musical based on the music of the iconic band Queen.
Elton joined Andrew Dickens to discuss how the musical came to be, his television legacy, and why it would be a 'shame' to bring back Blackadder.
