In this week’s episode, Karen Schultz, a FertilityCare Practitioner at the Twin Cities Fertility Care Center and instructor in the Creighton Method of natural family planning, tells us about her experience with NFP and this method. The Creighton Method is a mucus-only method of natural family planning. There is a branch of Creighton called NaPro Technology, which trains medical providers to address medical fertility and hormone concerns in natural ways. Karen also shares her experiences working as a doula and supporting women and couples through the birth process.

Here are some of the take-aways from this episode:
-If you don’t talk about using NFP, others (even your kids) might never learn about it
-It’s okay to not want to use NFP right now. Start charting anyway - start that deeper relationship with yourself and your body
-Natural family planning is not just for married women to learn when they want to have a baby. NFP should be taught in health class!
-Celebrate your whole womanhood by putting your signs of fertility down on paper every day
