We have just finished celebrating St. Patrick’s Day here in Newfoundland and Labrador and for one day at least we all get to be Irish. The reality is though – that there may actually be a surprising amount of Irish heritage here in our province compared to almost anywhere else in the world and that has to do with some of the first people to help found the province from the Southern British isle. Now, of course that doesn’t apply to all of us, but it does encompass a good proportion and that offers an opportunity to study our genetics in a unique way that can better help us understand our health and diseases which may be specific to our genes. In this episode we talk with Dr. Kathy Hodgkinson from @memorialuniversity and Dr. Rick Leach from @sequencebio about the amazing genetic research happening here at home!
