This past Tuesday April 11, there was a special election held in the 4th District of Kansas where an unknown lawyer named James Thompson nearly defeated the Republican incumbent in a notoriously red area. This has caught the attention of many on the left that the Democratic Party may be picking up momentum in the midst of the 2016 election.

In this episode we will discuss the power of the congress and the huge importance it plays within the US governmental structure. What are the mid-term elections and when are they? Can the Democrats build enough momentum and unity to take over congress in 2018? How do people find out who is running? If there is no one running in your district what should people do?

Earlier this week a man was dragged off of a United Airlines flight for refusing to give up his seat due to the plane being at capacity. This incident has added more fuel to the fire that is regulation and consumer protections. Has deregulation of these industries lead to this sort of culture for corporations. Are corporations becoming more like our overlords more so than our leaders.
