Jim Crow laws were state and local laws that enforced social segregation in the Southern United States and elsewhere in the 19th and early 20th centuries by white Southern Democrat-dominated state legislatures, but what you don't hear about is what happened in 1933 when the New Deal was created and "de facto" segregation became widespread in the housing and entertainment venues across the northern parts of the United States especially where most Black migrated and fled to.
