Most every parent gets to a point where they’re more parent than friend and it can sometimes be easy to forget the importance of establishing a friendship with your children. Doing and talking about things that they value and that interest them is a key to establishing a bond with your kids. Each of our kids has a different need to connect like some of our kids need words of affirmation while others may want to wrestle and touch us. Doing what you say can be a large part of building trust with your children and establishing a good relationship that will last through to adulthood.
