The Workcenter’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival Season

The Workcenter’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival Season, under the auspices of Rose Bruford College, will see the Focused Research Team in Edinburgh from August 18th to September 3rd, with presentations of their performance events The Living Room, L’heure fugitive, and The Underground: a Response to Dostoevsky. Additionally, during our festival season, Carla Pollastrelli, former Co-Director of Fondazione Pontedera Teatro, will present film documentation of Grotowski’s Akropolis and The Constant Prince, and Thomas Richards, The Workcenter’s Artistic Director, will present Thirty Years of the Workcenter: a Retrospective, an event that interweaves analysis, screening of film fragments, and discussion of the Workcenter’s performative works from over its thirty year history. In addition to these events, Mr. Richards, assisted by members of his team, will be leading The Actor/Creator, a five day workshop in which participants will come into contact with the basic principals of the Workcenter’s praxis. Each of these events will take place at Summerhall’s Upper Church space.
