Episode: Prerecorded show

The Living Full Out Show with Nancy Solari encourages you to share your pain instead of masking it. Maybe you feel the need to hide your true feelings from those around you. Perhaps you avoid admitting when you are upset because you want to keep from being a burden in others’ lives. By sharing your emotions with others, you will free yourself to focus on living full out.
Our first caller, Tony, needs advice on engaging in life after her children have graduated high school. Nancy advises that she go to the people closest to her and ask for their opinions on her skills and capabilities. Tune in to discover how you can find where to go in the next chapter of your own life.
Our second caller, Luke, has been looking for a job and wants to know how to stay motivated to keep that search going. Nancy tells him to keep his own physical and mental health in mind during this process. Listen in to hear how to stick to your objectives while staying true to yourself.
Our inspirational guest, Brittany Shelton, who grew up dealing with sexual and domestic abuse all through her childhood, is on the show sharing her story for one of the very first times. At age 16, she had her first sip of alcohol, which, in addition to drugs, eventually became one of the major ways she coped with the trauma she had experienced. After years of substance abuse that derailed her life, she found assistance through a 12-step program which gave her the tools and connections she needed to fight her vices. Now, having been sober for over a decade, Brittany is living happily with her husband and three sons. She started a blog called Discovering Beautiful, where she shares her life experiences, and recently, she has also published a book, Discovering Beautiful, in which, like her blog, she talks about her struggles with trauma and addiction. Tune in to hear how Brittany found the strength to open up about her experiences.
Our final caller, Christina, had an embarrassing experience many years ago where she broke down in front of a group of people, which she has been unable to get over. She asks how she can change her perspective to overcome that disappointment and free herself of the burden of that memory. Nancy reminds her that often, the people who show their emotions have a much greater impact on those around them than the ones who hide what they feel. Listen in to learn how you can shift your viewpoint on your own bad memories.
Maybe you feel closed off from your friends and family members. It could be that you’re afraid to open up and share the pain you’re feeling. If you take a chance and talk to someone else about what you’re going through, you can start building a support group that will assist you when you are feeling down. When you put your emotions out in the world, you give yourself the opportunity to overcome your struggles and live full out.
