The guest host for today's show is Brad Bannon. Brad runs Bannon Communications Research, a polling, message development and media firm which helps labor unions, progressive issue groups and Democratic candidates win public affairs and political campaigns. His new show, 'Deadline D.C. with Brad Bannon,' airs every Monday from 3-4pm ET.
Brad is first joined by the usual host of the show, Leslie Marshall! As you probably already know if you're a listener, Leslie is a Democratic Strategist, National Radio Host, and a Fox News Contributor who provides political analysis from a liberal point of view.
Brad and Leslie discuss the significance of today's endorsement of Joe Biden for President by Senator Bernie Sanders, including it happening three months sooner in the primary process than it did for Hillary Clinton. They give some advice as to what Vice President Biden can do to earn the votes of Bernie supporters, and preview his general election matchup with President Trump.
During the second half of the show, Brad leads a political round-table with Tara Devlin and Mark Grimaldi. The roundtable adds to the discussion of Sanders endorsing Biden, and what type of policies Sanders supporters would like to see Biden advocate for going forward. They also discuss whether Biden committing to nominating a female running mate was as meaningful as some have prognosticated.
Mark Grimaldi has been a progressive political activist for the past 12 years. He volunteered for the campaigns of President Obama (2008 and 2012), Senator Bernie Sanders (2016), and Secretary Hillary Clinton (2016). Mark is also involved in campaign finance reform efforts around the country, and philanthropic efforts for Cancer research. His Twitter handle is @MarkJGrimaldi.
