show moreI am a wife to Damien, mother to Eoin, Aoife, Lorcan and Caolan.
I was a primary school teacher and worked in Christ the Redeemer Primary school since graduation in 2002-2016.
I have overcome many health issues including having many surgeries. Sepsis was the final nail in the coffin of my career & I was later diagnosed with ME.
For the first four years, I found it very difficult to accept this illness and was hospitalised often and bedridden for prolonged periods of time. Throughout the many (approx300 nights) in hospital, you have to have hope & believe that better things are coming. I love every day placing gratitude at the centre of my world. The greatest pleasure and joys I experience are in nature when I am well enough to get out. I love birds and listening to their melodic song breeds hope. The beauty of nature especially forests has been a source of healing for me.
Poetry has helped me heal and I hope my words can help others heal also.
