show moreKhadevis Robinson lives in Baton Rouge, La where he is currently Asst. Coach at LSU, he also coaches open and professional track and field athletes. Khadevis Robinson—known as KD to one and all—is an amazing success story. Born and raised on the wrong side of the tracks in the inner city of Fort Worth, Texas, he has grown to become an international amateur and professional track star, educator, and powerful motivational speaker. Khadevis's story is not just about athletic success, however. It’s a story of faith, hope, family, and friends. A story of self-discovery and self worth. Above all, it is a story of setting your goals high and never letting them go, no matter what life throws at you.
Khadevis grew up knowing tough times. He saw friends go down the wrong path and lose their way. During his high school years, he lost his closest role model when his stepfather died. Originally setting his sights on a career in pro football, he was forced to change directions and take up track and field. Through it all, he never lost sight of his dream. To give it 110 percent and be the best he could possibly be.
K.D's world began to shift toward success when he was accepted into Texas Christian University. Its lush campus and educational possibilities seemed a world away from his old neighborhood, despite being only a 30-minute jog from his front door. KD took full advantage of everything TCU had to offer, earning his degree and multiple USA and NCAA track and field championships. He traveled the world as an Olympian and later in his professional track career as US National Champion in 1999, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Sometimes he won, sometimes he didn’t. But Khadevis always performed with the heart of a champion, using the lessons he learned about life from his family, friends, and the spirit of track competition.
As a professional track and field athlete representing Nike, Khadevis traveled the world competing in international and world class events and represented the USA and USOC in the World Championships and the Olympics. He contributes to the US Olympic Committee as well as staying close with the USATF, and alumni groups from TCU and Cal State LA.
Today, KD uses everything he has learned to inspire and motivate children and adults alike through, education, track and field camps, clinics and lectures as a performance coach. He co-founded a 501 c3 non-profit called The Youth Track and Running Club (YTRC) training and coaching coaches for 4 years. He remains an active member on the board.
Khadevis also served as the President of the TFAA in its earlier years and he is still a Board Member.
His corporate speaking engagements demonstrate his ability to translate Olympian drive into the business world with great success.
