The LA city councilman who pushed for a law allowing illegal immigrants to get driver licenses has celebrated one million of those licenses being issued. Councilman Gil Cedillo authored the state law while serving in the assembly.
Twelve states allow illegal immigrants to get driver licenses. A study from the Stanford University Immigration Policy Lab showed 4000 fewer hit and run accidents in the first year after the law went into effect.
