So sad. Many animals do this and it's a sad fact of Mother Nature. It's natural and it's ugly. But it's a natural process that a mother should never be jailed for 😞 we like to think we are civilized and above other animals, but we are not. The more we understand this the more compassionate we can be which would actually improve the whole situation. Because instead of this being a crime it would be a health issue that we wouldn't be shunned to talk about and understand. Fact: if a mother (any animal) doesn't have the physical or mental resources for rearing their young, they may kill their young. It's a survival machinism. There are animal studies on this. Sad but true:(
