The big questions: are you tired of no-hitters? Do you think that offensive performance will improve as hitters adjust to this newer ball?
Surprise xwOBA numbers:
Carson Kelly (.458) - currently on IL but already 6 HR 4 2B, 1.103 OPS. Is he firmly a top-10 catcher now and going forwards in dynasty?
Omar Narvaez (.425) - bounced back from miserable 2020 with .369/.455/.524 line and walking almost as often as he is striking out but only 3 HR - more power coming?
Buster Posey (.419) - not just back to his best but apparently better than ever, 8 HR, .451 OBP and .657 slug. Volume might not be the same as old - is he an elite hitter again?
Darin Ruf (.408) - hit pretty well in a situational role last year and is doing even better in 2021. Has always been a lefty-masher but has been excellent against righties since returning from KBO too. Any chance of an expanded role?
Evan Longoria (.386) - had excellent Statcast numbers in 2020 but top-line didn't match. His .779 OPS is still lagging behind his batted-ball metrics: 99th(!) in avg EV and HardHit%. Should we expect the fantasy production to surge soon?
Tyler O'Neill (.399) - power has never been in doubt but xwOBA now over 50 points higher than actual and xBA at .292. Can run well too. Has he finally figured out how to be a valuable hitter despite his whiff issues or is the contact rate simply too poor?
Trey Mancini (.399) - amazing comeback, locked into playing time and the heart of the lineup with 10 HR and 39 RBI, and xwOBA suggests he might have been a little unlucky. Is he a top-50 hitter going forwards?
C.J. Cron (.397) - many bet on him as a Coors beneficiary but he's having the best year of his career and walking a ton. Has anything changed or is this same old Cron in Coors Field?
