It’s not for everyone, sure. It’s loud, it invites anger, and my old man never liked how the women got hit — never mind that at least they were allowed to hit back. But it’s real enough, because the kicks are real, the bruises are real, and the energy you feel when you’re swept up in a “This Is Awesome” chant — there’s no way that much energy can be fake.
Pro Wrestling is as real as the protests, it’s as real as those parties we go to — and at least when people get hurt in wrestling it’s supposed to happen. I
t’s honestly kind of funny — I feel safer at the wrestling shows than I do at school sometimes.
