For MAGA based groups, if they follow that pattern of thought, Obama was blended and neither his Blackness nor his Whiteness are more than the 3/5.

I'm sincerely tired of Indigenous people being excluded from every conversation. Every time I listen to heart-to-heart discussions that are occurring now because of the visibility of racism, I wait with baited breath for someone to mention that Indigenous people experienced great genocide or are subject to the same systemic racism! 99.9% of the time, that does NOT happen.

the 3/5ths clause is why someone (MAGA based) would infer Obama could not be president. I mean it's too late, and we did that TWICE sooooo.... lol

My first thought is that the "3/5s misinterpretation" sentiment is ca-ca. But it is posted on BlackPast.org which has 6 of 8, presumably Black, Board members and quite a few Black historians.

My concern is tha a white "Constitutional Lawyer" will try to turn this around on him and suggest that this country should not not only elect a woman to be president, but that Barrac Obama should never have been elected as President basd on the current read of the constitution.

In fact, there are many layers to what we ponder. I just read the following: "Often misinterpreted to mean that African Americans as individuals are considered three-fifths of a person or that they are three-fifths of a citizen of the U.S., the three-fifths clause (Article I, Section 2, of the U.S. Constitution of 1787) in fact declared that for purposes of representation in Congress, enslaved blacks in a state would be counted as three-fifths of the number of white inhabitants of that state."

Most people haven't pondered the Constitution. Even though I knew about the 3/5 person and savages parts, I never deeply considered it's construct until Mark Charles focused on it.
