The state of Atlanta has always had a cloud over it, like Pig Pen. But in the last few years both the Hawks and Falcons have had success that put them in the spotlight for the first time in many decades. The Falcons, until the past two seasons, had 6 years of success, playing highly competive football, making the playoffs, winning the division, fans paying attention. The Atlanta Hawks have been to the playoffs for the past 8 years in a row, they won the division last year, got the top seed in the Eastern Conference, had the coach of the year, 4 players make the all star team. This year we have new uniforms, new fans, strong attachment to players in the community. But the last few weeks have seen things that many people view as issues.
