On this very special episode of Low-Budget Rebels, I had the pleasure of chatting with the filmmaking team of Alex Knapp and Max Gardner. Their film Go/Don't Go is a genre-bending, slow-burn thriller set in a post-apocalyptic world. A movie made on a very tight budget and utilized everything the filmmakers had at their disposal.
In this episode we get a little emo, discussing the emotional impact filmmaking has on the artist, as well as the struggle and challenges that come with attempting to release a low-budget film. We also discuss how the pandemic affected our creativity and progress as artists, why we look for the benefits of forcing ourselves to write inside of a box of what we know is possible, balancing professional work with creative work, and how important knowing your location and schedule is.
