Carrsan T Morrissey made it awfully tough coming up with a title for this episode because there were so many inspirational sayings and moments of wisdom that it was hard to pin one down.
Every filmmaker has their own voice and Carrsan has a very special and unique filmmaking voice. Just taking a look at the premises of films like Roulette Girl, The Woe Land Saga Chapter 1, and What If?, each one caught my eye and piqued my interest. The films as well as the book Old Wounds fully demonstrate how powerful of a creative force Carrsan is and highlight that unique and special voice.
On today’s show, we talk the writing process, directing process, filming challenges, as well as where do some of Carrsan’s unique concepts come from.
I love Carrsan’s comment that there is no right way to make a movie. As filmmakers we are told so many times that this is the way to do it, this is the process to follow, this is what you have to do to be successful. We have challenges thrown in our path trying to bring our films to the screen and we have to adapt and modify to make it work. Through all of it… finding your voice… finding your processes… overcoming your challenges… you must trust your imagination.
