I had already been lied to several times, so I was not really happy with being an instructor, I flat out told everyone that I didn't want to do this job from the CMC to the CO of the command, guess that is why they were pissed

I agree with your argument Rock about the Iranian Air liner, we were supposed to lob t-hawks into Bagdad, there is a big difference in my mind, all we did was so circles in the water

While I was the CO of the sea cadet unit, because I was prior enlisted I was authorized to wear my DOD ribbons and medals, we had 2 prior cadets that ended up going to the Naval Academy, when I walked out with my uniform with 14 ribbons and medals on my chest these two dropped their jaws

When I joined my post I was welcomed with open arms. Seriously, a WWII vet bought me a beer. Vietnam vets kept trying to buy me beers too. And like you say Ken my DD-214 says I earned two Combat Action Ribbons on the same day March 19, 2003. LMAO I should put a Star on my CAR!

I was stationed with a guy that grew up 20 minutes from me when he and his wife transferred to Japan, he found out that after his deployment his wife was fucking a Marine, he ended up on my ship, the world is much smaller than people think

I am not sure how the reenlistment works in the Marines, but he was not allowed to reenlist as active duty, he ended up talking to a reserve recruiter and is looking to go active reserve in October

Specifically, we had plenty active duty running the admin of our reserve unit.
