As a Canadian, I am going to warn you about exactly what will happen if the electoral college is abolished. 1/4 of the country will run the government forever, while the other 3/4 suffers. Eastern Canada decides Canadian elections. In the most recent one, the one which gifted us with our beloved drama teacher Prime Minister (ha ha), the polls were closed before Western Canada had even voted. I was walking up to the ballot box as the news was gleefully announcing the election of a second Trudeau as PM. I was furious. But I am powerless to change anything. THAT is what life is like without an electoral college.
