Welcome to Day 1717 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomA Gossiper – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1717 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Croft M. Pentz, and it is: A gossiper is like an old shoe—its tongue never stays in place.
A Gossiper
Most of us probably don’t think of ourselves as a gossiper, but if we analyze what we say to others throughout a week, our actual speech may tell a different story. We all tend to fall prey to talking about other people or situations when they are not present. We may sugar coat it in a manner that portrays that we are concerned for that person or to let others know details so they can also pray about it, but we must be cautious when we rationalize our conversations. We often find that we are like an old shoe, where our tongue never stays in the confines of a closed mouth. Gossip and slander are some of the most insidious and harmful traits that we can incorporate into our language, so we must be careful if we have those tendencies. Gossip and slander are listed right along with some of what we perceive to be the extreme of all wrong behaviors, yet so many participate in it.

A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+15%3A16-20andversion=NLT (Matthew 15:16-20)
“Don’t you understand yet?” Jesus asked. “Anything you eat passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer. But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands will never defile you.”

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
