Pray Colossians 1:9-14

1. To be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.
Every person needs to know what God's plan is for their lives. In you personally want to know what God's plan is for your life. So this requires discernment, to distinguish his voice, to know his direction and his plan for you.

So when you pray to be filled with the knowledge of his will, you're seeking his will. When you pray that you will have all spiritual wisdom and understanding, your recognizing that your limited in your wisdom and understanding; and you need the wisdom and understanding of God in every situation and circumstance of life.

2. To walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing him in all ways.
When you ask God to walk in a manner worthy of him; you're asking him to direct and control the reins of your life. You're asking him to pattern your life after Christ. And when you say pleasing him in all your ways, the goal is to glorify him.

3. To bear fruit in every good work.
God created you in Christ Jesus for good works. And he tells you that you are to be about doing those good works that he planned in advance for you to do for others. So instead of being wrapped up in your own life and own your own job in your own circumstances. Your contributing to the lives of others to help them and all of life's areas.

You bear fruit for God you are his vine and his life is flowing through you grosses fruit through you that others may pick of the fruit of his buying in you through your word and eat from his good treasury.

4. To increase in the knowledge of God.
When you desire increasing your knowledge of God; you're wanting to have more awareness acquired by experience or study, being directed by the Holy Spirit of God who reveals to you the deep things of God and the Mystery of Christ.

5. To joyfully give thanks to God for all he has done for you. One of the hallmark characteristics of the Christ centered life is joy and thanksgiving. When you recognize the great love that God has for you, it causes you to be thankful and rejoice in love so great that it's unexplainable and unconditional. And you're asking God
with the spirit of joy and thanksgiving recognizing that the joy of the Lord is your strength.

6. To be strengthened with his power so you remain steadfast. Listen, God knew that you could live this life in a fallen world in your own strength. So Christ comes to live in you and through his strength you are able to do and to work and to pray for others.

So when you pray the words the Holy Spirit gave to Paul in Colossians 1:9-14 your praying with faith in birthing of God's persuasion to pray for others with the prayer that the Holy Spirit gave Paul that will make a difference in their lives. God will transform you and the people you intercede when you use his prayer praying in his will just as he had purposed. In Jesus name.
