Episode 34 looks at leading and managing during the 3 phases of crisis: pre, during, and post
along with the 6 stages that make up the phases:
1) warning 2) risk assessment 3) response 4) management 5) resolution 6) recovery
We align in the phase of management the 4 functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling—explaining each function and how it intertwines with management and then the build-in of the other 5 stages.
In this episode, we examine current and past crises: snowstorms in Atlanta, GA; COVID-19 CoronaVirus; tornadoes and other natural disasters; financial crashes, and more.
We look at how poor leaders and managers operate before, during, and after crises in comparison to good and great leaders and managers. We look at what businesses profess to do but clearly fail to do, as this COVID-19 crisis has proven— and what aspiring business owners need to consider and plan for, to learn from the painful lessons of others.
