Orthodox Christians celebrate a Vesperal Liturgy of Saint Basil on Christmas Eve. The Gospel reading comes to us from Luke 2:1-20 and it narrate for us Saint Luke's account of the birth of Christ. Luke being the good historian he is want us to know that God's Hand is behind all of human history. Father Gregory shares with us that the while the Jewish people had no room for Jesus either in their hearts or inn the lowly, humble shepherds who were not properly religious people received the message of Jesus' birth and moved with haste to see Him. The question is posed from Father Gregory as to whether we as Orthodox Christians will humbly make room in our hearts to receive Christ this Christmas day and indeed every day.
