Tony was a piano prodigy at 4 years of age. He has won national composer/lyricist awards in Jazz, Gospel, Classical and Musical Theatre genres, including:
• The Smithsonian National Museum of African Art’s first commissioned Operetta (2014) Librettist, Composer & Lyricist for Qadar sponsored by a gift from Sultanate of Oman with Artistic Direction by Denyce Graves (Kennedy Center Scene Debut and World premiere at the Clarice Performing Arts Center;

• 2012 & 2009 Meet The Composer Awards/New Music USA for his Tales & Traditions Anthology debut at the Smithsonian’s National Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) Festival, U.S. Department of Interior’s Jazz Festival, DC Jazz Festival and Kennedy Center 2009 - 2012;

• Tony Award Winning BMI Musical Theatre Alum -- New York Times calls the Harvard of Musical Theatre

• 2008 American Composer Forum (D.C. Chapter) award for his Shine Through Musical Composer/Librettist/Lyricist.
• 2008 Stellar Award Song writer -- Composer/Lyricist -- "I Am" recorded by Maurette Clark;

• Actor on the 2008 HBO WIRE -- Director for featured Boys Choir on theme song and sound track;

• 2007 Maryland State Arts Composer Award;

• White House Millennium Residency (America’s top 55 community Artists -- spearheaded by Hillary Clinton); Composed and orchestrated the Waltz of the Butterflies Symphony -- 1st movement and the ACRO Dinosaur Theme for the Museum of Natural Science Dinosaur exhibit opening. Composer, lyricist, librettist and orchestrator for the ScienceQuest-STEAM Musical.
The residency was sponsored by NEA and the Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation ...and served at the historic Hayti Heritage Center in Durham, NC.
