Vi a otro ángel poderoso que descendía del cielo envuelto en una nube, y el arco iris estaba sobre su cabeza. Su rostro era como el sol, y sus pies como columnas de fuego, y tenía en su mano un librito abierto. Puso su pie derecho sobre el mar y su pie izquierdo sobre la tierra, y gritó a gran voz, como cuando ruge el león. Cuando gritó, los siete truenos emitieron sus voces. Cuando los siete truenos hablaron, yo estaba por escribir, pero oí una voz del cielo que decía: “Sella las cosas que los siete truenos hablaron; no las escribas”. Y el ángel que vi de pie sobre el mar y sobre la tierra levantó su mano derecha al cielo y juró por el que vive para siempre jamás, quien creó el cielo y las cosas que están en él, y la tierra y las cosas que están en ella, y el mar y las cosas que están en él: “Ya no hay más tiempo, sino que en los días de la voz del séptimo ángel, cuando él esté por tocar la trompeta, también será consumado el misterio de Dios, como él lo anunció a sus siervos los profetas”. Y la voz que oí del cielo habló otra vez conmigo, diciendo: “Ve, toma el librito abierto de la mano del ángel que está de pie sobre el mar y sobre la tierra”. Fui al ángel diciéndole que me diera el librito, y me dijo: “Toma y trágalo; y hará amargar tu estómago, pero en tu boca será dulce como la miel”. Y tomé el librito de la mano del ángel y lo tragué. Y era dulce en mi boca como la miel, pero cuando lo comí, mi estómago se hizo amargo. Y me dijeron: “Te es necesario profetizar otra vez a muchos pueblos y naciones y lenguas y reyes”.

Recuerdo que cuando era un adolescente en la iglesia nos visitaban seguido evangelistas o pastores misioneros. Algunos de ellos llevaban pocos años en la obra misionera y otros llevaban varias décadas plantando iglesias y formando pastores. Lo que me llamaba la atención era la pasión tan grande cuando hablaban sobre la necesidad de hablarle a las almas que no conocían del Señor y el dolor que sentían por aquel que estaba perdido en tinieblas y no conocían todavía la luz de Jesús.
Quizá esa intensidad de ese llamado urgente fue lo que sembró en mí el deseo de convertirme en un anunciante de las buenas nuevas de salvación.
En este capítulo podemos notar que Juan escucha la voz de un ángel supremo, posiblemente es el Señor, mostrándose en una visión angelical para declarar que había llegado el tiempo de que el reino de Dios se estableciera y que las multitudes conocieran el misterio de Dios. Posiblemente, está hablando del misterio de que los gentiles serían salvos, y también el misterio de que Dios se manifestó en forma de carne en Jesucristo para que todo el mundo entiendan y conozcan al Dios invisible en la imagen visible de Jesús.

Después de esto se le dio la orden a Juan de consumir un pequeño libro, el cual le iba a producir un sabor agradable como el dulce en la boca pero después sentiría un sabor amargo en el estómago. Es una sensación incómoda y hasta extraña que algo que es dulce produzca a la misma vez esa incomodidad amarga. La razón de esto es porque simboliza la necesidad de profetizar o sea de anunciar a todas las multitudes, sin importar su estatus económico, social o cultural, que Jesucristo es el único camino para la salvación, la única manera de que el ser humano restaure su relación con su Creador y que si no aceptan este mensaje de salvación, entonces vendrá una condenación eterna para las almas que rechacen la verdad de Dios por medio del sacrificio de Jesucristo.
Es una situación agridulce tan solo pensar en que alguien que amamos o que conocemos se vaya a perder por la eternidad pero es una tarea que debemos hacer. Es hermoso y placentero hablar de la obra del Señor Jesucristo pero a la misma vez es muy incómodo y doloroso al ver que esa persona todavía no ha aceptado a Jesús en su corazón. Es una experiencia agridulce. Sin embargo, sigue predicando este mensaje a tiempo y fuera de tiempo, con amor pero con autoridad.

¿Estoy compartiendo la Palabra del Señor aunque sea un poco incómodo?
Cuando pienso en los perdidos, ¿siento compasión y oro por ellos, o soy indiferente hacia aquellos que todavía no han entrado al camino de Dios?

September 4: A Bittersweet Message.

Revelation 10:1-11
I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices. Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.”
The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer, but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, “Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth.”
So I went to the angel and said to him, “Give me the little book.”
And he said to me, “Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth.”
Then I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. And he said to me, “You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.”


I remember when I was a teenager in church we were often visited by evangelists or missionary pastors. Some of them had only been in missionary work for a few years, and others had spent several decades planting churches and training pastors. What caught my attention was the great passion when they spoke about the need to speak to souls who did not know about the Lord and the pain they felt for the one who was lost in darkness and did not yet know the light of Jesus.
Perhaps that intensity of that urgent call was what sowed in me the desire to become a messenger of the good news of salvation.
In this chapter we can notice that John hears the voice of a supreme angel, possibly it is the Lord, showing Himself in an angelic vision to declare that the time had come for the kingdom of God to be established and for the multitudes to know the mystery of God. Possibly, he is talking about the mystery that the Gentiles would be saved, and also the mystery that God manifested Himself in the form of flesh in Jesus Christ so that the whole world would understand and know the invisible God in the visible image of Jesus.

After this, John was given the order to consume a small book, which would produce a pleasant taste like sweet in his mouth but later he would feel a bitter taste in his stomach. It is an uncomfortable and even strange feeling that something that is sweet produces at the same time that bitter discomfort. The reason for this is because it symbolizes the need to prophesy or to announce to all crowds, regardless of their economic, social or cultural status, that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation, the only way for human being to restore their relationship with their Creator and that if they don't accept this message of salvation, then an eternal damnation will come for souls who reject the truth of God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
It is a bittersweet situation just to think that someone we love or know is going to be lost for eternity but it is a task that we must do. It is beautiful and pleasant to talk about the work of the Lord Jesus Christ but at the same time it is very uncomfortable and painful to see that this person has not yet accepted Jesus in their heart. It is a bittersweet experience. However, continues to preach this message in season and out of season, with love but with authority.

Consider this:
Am I sharing the Word of the Lord even if it's a little uncomfortable?
When I think of the lost, do I feel compassion and pray for them, or am I indifferent towards those who have not yet entered God's way?
