Octubre 17: Sanidad por medio de la confesión.

Salmos 32:1‭-‬11 RVA2015:
Bienaventurado aquel cuya transgresión ha sido perdonada y ha sido cubierto su pecado. Bienaventurado el hombre a quien el SEÑOR no atribuye iniquidad, y en cuyo espíritu no hay engaño.
Mientras callé se envejecieron mis huesos en mi gemir todo el día. Porque de día y de noche se agravó sobre mí tu mano; mi vigor se convirtió en sequedades de verano. Selah
Mi pecado te declaré y no encubrí mi iniquidad. Dije: “Confesaré mis rebeliones al SEÑOR”. Y tú perdonaste la maldad de mi pecado. Selah
Por eso orará a ti todo fiel en el tiempo en que puedas ser hallado. Ciertamente en la inundación las caudalosas aguas no llegarán a él. Tú eres mi refugio; me guardarás de la angustia y con cánticos de liberación me rodearás. Selah
“Te haré entender y te enseñaré el camino en que debes andar. Sobre ti fijaré mis ojos. No sean sin entendimiento como el caballo o como el mulo, cuya boca ha de ser frenada con rienda y freno; de otro modo, no se acercan a ti”.
Muchos dolores tendrá el impío; pero la misericordia cercará al que espera en el SEÑOR. Oh justos, alégrense en el SEÑOR y gócense; canten con júbilo todos los rectos de corazón.


Este es uno de los salmos que más me gustan. Es un salmo que da testimonio de una crisis espiritual que el salmista experimentó. En este salmo él nos cuenta cómo fue ese proceso de tristeza y enfermedad, y como Dios lo liberó cuando él tomó una buena decisión.
Primero, él sentía que estaba agonizando espiritualmente; sentía que ya no podía más seguir adelante; él sentía que se estaba secando. Estos versos son muy importantes porque nos muestra cómo afecta nuestra salud física cuando estamos enfermos espiritual y emocionalmente.

La causa o la raíz de su profunda tristeza y dolor radica en que David había cometido falta delante de Dios y no se había arrepentido. A veces pensamos que podemos estar bien delante de Dios y a la vez cometiendo pecados; lo que esto ocasiona es que haya perturbación en el corazón, la conciencia te acusa y la carga se hace muy pesada, produciendo en nosotros tanta confusión interna que se empieza a reflejar en nuestro semblante con un rostro triste o nuestro cuerpo se debilita
Los doctores le llaman a esto una enfermedad psicosomática, que es cuando uno tiene una carga espiritual y emocional tan grande que el cuerpo se comienza a enfermar. En algunos casos se produce migrañas, problemas cardíacos, insomnio, falta de apetito, estrés, depresión y otros males.

Por eso el salmista testificó con alegría que cuando él confesó su falta y su pecado delante de la presencia de Dios, él recibió una sanidad tanto interna como externa. Su alma descansó de esa carga que llevaba, su espíritu revivió y su cuerpo comenzó a recibir nuevas fuerzas.
En el intermedio de este salmo Dios habla por medio de David dándonos unas palabras de confianza, diciéndonos que los que confían en el Señor, Dios les va a mostrar el camino; y también nos aconseja de que no seamos como un animal de carga que hay que amarrarlo, ponerle un bozal y someterlo con cuerdas.
Pienso que el Señor nos quiere decir que no seamos tercos, necios, llevando siempre la contraria desobedeciendo a la Palabra de Dios, sabiendo que los que van a sufrir somos nosotros mismos.
¡Es por eso que el Señor quiere que vivamos siempre en libertad plena!
Por eso el salmista cerró este salmo declarando que los malos van a sufrir muchos dolores pero los que confían en el Señor siempre van a tener una canción de liberación en sus labios.

¿Has tenido alguna experiencia similar a la del salmista?
¿Has tratado de esconder algo, y por no confesarlo te ha producido ansiedad o tristeza?
Cuando el señor te ha llamado, ¿no has obedecido?
¿Necesitas reconciliarte con el Señor?

October 17: Healing through confession.

Psalms 32:1-11:
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones grew old through my groaning all the day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah
I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him. You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you.
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!


This is one of the psalms that I like the most. It is a psalm that testifies to a spiritual crisis that the psalmist experienced. In this psalm he tells us what that process of sadness and illness was like, and how God freed and saved him when he made a good decision.
First, he felt that he was spiritually agonizing; he felt that he could no longer go on; he felt like he was drying up. These verses are very important because it shows us how it affects our physical health when we are spiritually and emotionally ill.

The cause or root of his deep sadness and pain lies in the fact that David had made a mistake before God and had not repented. Sometimes we think that we can be well before God and at the same time committing sins; what this causes is that there is disturbance in the heart, the conscience accuses you and the burden becomes very heavy, producing in us so much internal confusion that it begins to reflect on our countenance with a sad face or our body becomes weak.
Doctors call this a psychosomatic illness, which is when one has such a great spiritual and emotional burden that the body begins to get sick. In some cases, migraines, heart problems, insomnia, poor appetite, stress, depression and other ills occur.

That is why the psalmist joyfully testified that when he confessed his fault and sin before the presence of God, he received both internal and external healing. His soul rested from that burden he was carrying, his spirit revived and his body began to receive new strength.
In the middle of this psalm God speaks through David giving us a few words of confidence, telling us that those who trust in the Lord, God is going to show them the way; and also advises us not to be like a pack animal that must be tied up, put on a muzzle and subdued with ropes.
I think the Lord wants to tell us not to be stubborn, foolish, always going the opposite way, disobeying the Word of God, knowing that it is ourselves who are going to suffer.
That is why the Lord wants us to always live in full freedom!
That is why the psalmist closed this psalm by declaring that the wicked will suffer many pains but those who trust in the Lord will always have a song of liberation on their lips.

Consider this:
Have you had an experience similar to the psalmist's?
Have you tried to hide something, and not confessing it has caused you anxiety or sadness?
When the Lord has called you, have you not obeyed?
Do you need to reconcile with the Lord?
