📖2 Pedro 3:1‭-‬18 RVA2015:
Amados, esta es la segunda carta que les escribo. En estas dos cartas estímulo con exhortación su limpio entendimiento, para que recuerden las palabras que antes han sido dichas por los santos profetas, y el mandamiento del Señor y Salvador declarado por los apóstoles de ustedes. Primeramente, sepan que en los últimos días vendrán burladores con sus burlas, quienes procederán según sus bajas pasiones y dirán: “¿Dónde está la promesa de su venida? Porque desde el día en que nuestros padres durmieron todas las cosas siguen igual, así como desde el principio de la creación”. Pues bien, por su propia voluntad pasan por alto esto: que por la palabra de Dios existían desde tiempos antiguos los cielos, y la tierra que surgió del agua y fue asentada en medio del agua. Por esto el mundo de entonces fue destruido, inundado en agua. Pero por la misma palabra, los cielos y la tierra que ahora existen están reservados para el fuego; guardados hasta el día del juicio y de la destrucción de los hombres impíos. Pero, amados, una cosa no pasen por alto: que delante del Señor un día es como mil años y mil años como un día. El Señor no tarda su promesa, como algunos la tienen por tardanza; más bien, es paciente para con ustedes porque no quiere que nadie se pierda sino que todos procedan al arrepentimiento. Pero el día del Señor vendrá como ladrón. Entonces los cielos pasarán con grande estruendo; los elementos, ardiendo, serán deshechos; y la tierra y las obras que están en ella serán consumidas. Ya que todas estas cosas han de ser deshechas, ¡qué clase de personas deben ser ustedes en conducta santa y piadosa, aguardando y apresurándose para la venida del día de Dios! Por causa de ese día los cielos, siendo encendidos, serán deshechos; y los elementos, al ser abrasados, serán fundidos. Según las promesas de Dios esperamos cielos nuevos y tierra nueva en los cuales mora la justicia. Por tanto, oh amados, estando a la espera de estas cosas, procuren con empeño ser hallados en paz por él, sin mancha e irreprensibles. Consideren que la paciencia de nuestro Señor es para salvación; como también nuestro amado hermano Pablo les ha escrito, según la sabiduría que le ha sido dada. Él habla de estas cosas en todas sus epístolas, en las cuales hay algunas cosas difíciles de entender que los indoctos e inconstantes tuercen, como lo hacen también con las otras Escrituras para su propia destrucción. Así que ustedes, oh amados, sabiendo esto de antemano, guárdense; no sea que, siendo desviados por el engaño de los malvados, caigan de su firmeza. Más bien, crezcan en la gracia y en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo. A él sea la gloria ahora y hasta el día de la eternidad. Amén.

Me tomo el tiempo de leerles todo el último capítulo completo porque es el resumen del propósito de Pedro al haber escrito esta carta.
Son varios los temas que el apóstol enseña aquí al final de la carta, pero quiero resaltar la advertencia de no dejar los caminos del Señor, especialmente porque vendrá el día donde la tierra será destruida.
La primera vez fue en el diluvio, donde la población mundial fue casi exterminada por causa de la maldad.
La segunda vez serán destruidos los cielos y la tierra con fuego, para que Dios forme cielos nuevos y tierra nueva, sin consecuencias ni contaminación por el pecado.
Cada día vemos el cumplimiento de las Escrituras que los profetas profetizaron sobre las señales antes del fin. Claramente vemos la maldad aumentarse, los gobiernos esperando a un líder mundial, y el odio hacia Israel y al cristianismo ha aumentado en los últimos años.
Así que, ¡no nos dejemos mover por argumentos que van en contra de las profecías de la Biblia! Esta es una fe viva, real, verdadera y liberadora, que tus convicciones no sean movidas por burladores incrédulos sino afirma tu fe en adquirir más conocimiento de la Palabra, y entrando continuamente a la presencia de Dios en oración, llenándote del Espíritu Santo de Dios.

¿Has tenido ataques de personas queriendo desanimarte?
¿Has sentido el poder de Dios afirmando tu corazón en medio de una sociedad maligna?

August 17: Beware of falling from your steadfastness!

2 Peter 3:1-18:
Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.


I take the time to read the entire last chapter to you because it is the summary of Peter's purpose in writing this letter.
There are several topics that the apostle teaches here at the end of the letter, but I want to highlight the warning not to leave the ways of the Lord, especially because the day will come when the earth will be destroyed.
The first time was in the flood, where the world population was almost exterminated because of evil.
The second time, the heavens and the earth will be destroyed with fire, so that God may form new heavens and new earth, without consequences or contamination by sin.
Every day we see the fulfillment of the Scriptures that the prophets prophesied about the signs before the end. Clearly we see evil on the rise, governments waiting for a world leader, and hatred for Israel and Christianity has increased in recent years.
So, let's not get moved by arguments that go against the prophecies of the Bible! This is a living, real, true and liberating faith, that your convictions don't be moved by unbelieving scoffers but affirms your faith in acquiring more knowledge of the Word, and continually entering in the presence of God in prayer, filling you with the presence of God.

Let's consider:
Have you had attacks from people wanting to discourage you?
Have you felt the power of God affirming your heart in the midst of an evil society?
