Greetings to the living out there in the frozen tundra of The United Surveillance of America.

This is a shortish update episode about some things I've been pondering since our power went out 4 days ago.

How prepared could you be in an extreme situation that didn't go on for days, but maybe weeks or months?
What will you do differently next time?
How do you circumvent your dependence not only on electricity, but also gasoline?
Can you ever be prepped enough?
What would it take for drastic and maybe even criminal action?
And what could you do to get a piece of that action, if only just to eat or be able to move freely?

These are the things on my mind as we sit beside our fireplace in the darkness around us undistracted by shiny flashing lights and whiz-bang gratification.
