In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford provides an update on his government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by provincial Health Minister Christine Elliott, Ontario Solicitor General Sylvia Jones, and Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health. The premier announces that the province will gradually ease COVID-19 restrictions and reinstate its COVID-19 colour-coded framework. Non-essential business will be allowed to reopen in grey-lockdown zones with a 25 per cent capacity. The province will lift the provincewide stay-at-home order starting with three regions on February 10, with the goal of doing the same in 28 others on February 16 and in Peel, York and Toronto on February 22.
