Community-focused, Sheila is a member of Cosmopolitan International, a service club that raises money for diabetes education and research. In 2013-2014, she proudly held the office as the organization's International President, being only the third woman since its inception in 1918 to hold this prestigious office as the Vice President of Marketing for three years. She served on the Cosmopolitan Diabetes Foundation Board in 2015 and 2016. She currently serves on the Adult Advisory Board for the non-profit, Simon Says Give.

Sheila was named first runner-up in the 2012 Mrs. South Dakota-America pageant and hasmentored pageant contestants and served as a judge.
