Jess Byard July, this year all about surrealist films, continues with the first Luis Buñuel film we've ever covered, and possibly the auteur's finest. The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie stars Fernando Rey as the ambassador from the fictional Republic of Miranda, who, along with a circle of well-to-do acquaintances played by Delphine Seyrig, Stéphane Audran, Jean-Pierre Cassel, and Bulle Ogier, keeps trying to share a meal together, only to be stopped by hilarious, bizarre, and even violent interruptions. It's a film unlike many others, one that rewards an active, engaged viewer with sight gags and more. Bill Ackerman of Supporting Characters joins to talk Buñuel's career, the film's surrealist nature, and the films it went on to influence.

Bill Ackerman of Supporting Characters joins Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Luis Buñuel, Fernando Rey, surrealism, and so much more.
