We end Noiruary with a Chester Himes adaptation that puts a decidedly absurdist spin on hard-boiled noir: Bill Duke's A Rage in Harlem. Forest Whitaker and Gregory Hines star as two estranged brothers, one chasing the woman of his dreams and the other a trunk full of gold. The film meshes comedy with a heavy dash of bloodshed and is as good as any Himes adaptation gets. We dig into the performances, the comedy, and the film's strange tone.
DC Titan's Richard Hatem, The Projection Booth's Mike White, and Pulp Serenade's Cullen Gallagher join Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Chester Himes, Bill Duke, Forest Whitaker, and so much more.
