How well do you know and love your child? Because the most resounding cry by every child is to be fully known, fully loved. However, we can take for granted that our children know how we feel about them. What happens is that what we think they are receiving is not how they are receiving it.  Now, this is not about are you doing it right by your child. It's a reminder to make sure that your child knows he/she is fully known, fully loved. And that means you have to clue into your child. The K.I.S.S. ~ C.L.U.E. into your child! If you are not looking, you won't know what's happening. Life is not about grades and activities, presents and parties.  A child wants your attention. So C.L.U.E. into your child.

1. Compliment often. Your child needs to be reminded on a daily basis how wonderful he/she is.
2. Leverage your time. Slow down in order to speed up. Don't schedule yourself crazy!
3. Understand completely. This understanding comes from their perspective, not yours. And that's the challenge. 
4. Engage daily. How many times do you see your child? And can you remember your interaction? If you can't remember, do you think your child feels remembered? Make time daily for your child. 

What we don't realize is that our children are constantly evolving into precious human beings. They're growing and learnings new things every day.  So instead of your child feeling like they have to perform to your standards to get your attention, come to them with an open heart to receive them as they are.
