I gave Jackie a Lyft from the bus station to the Salvation Army. Jackie had a lot to talk about. She was working a fundraiser in Birmingham a few years ago when her life changed.

The organization had just received a large donation, and everyone was super excited. Jackie was the money handler that particular evening. As she was turning a corner with the cash, she was assaulted. The man gripped his hands around her throat intending to take her life. The guy was eventually captured, and Jackie was moved here to Clarksville.

Later, authorities found out the guy had previously murdered two people before ever encountering Jackie. She was left with permanent brain damage. Today Jackie happily carries on with an undying love for people.
