The green light has been given by the Bryan city council for BTU's plans to spend almost $8 million dollars over the next three years to build a new distribution operations center.
General Manager Gary Miller says this will be paid with cash and will not jeopardize other capital projects.
Miller says this will be the first major improvement on BTU's property north of Travis Park in at least 45 years.
This is the latest in a six year series of new and modernized facilities for the local electric company...where the number of customers have grown since 1971 from 12,000 to around 60,000.
