The last project approved by College Station voters in a 2008 bond issue...the more than $6 million dollar expansion and renovation of the Larry J. Ringer library...is nearing completion.

Mayor Karl Mooney says they're shooting for an opening in early September.

The library was closed last November with the original expectation to finish in June. Then the opening was delayed until August.

The mayor says the current delay was due to the time it took to build $460,000 dollars of new shelving, which is supposed to be arriving later this month.
