Nalini Tranquim was born in Chandigarh India, a small town in the foothills of the Himalayas. Her Grandfather Qamar Jalalabadi was a famous Bollywood Lyricist and grew up being taught by her father, the weaving together of words.
Raised in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe, Nalini spent her childhood preparing for a dream to become a world-renowned singer/songwriter and pianist. After qualifying in Classical Piano through the Associated Board of the Royal College of Music, and at the tender age of eighteen, she boarded a plane to London, leaving everything she knew and loved with a suitcase and a dream to pursue her music career.
But God had other plans for Nalini.
Four months into arriving in London, Nalini discovered she was pregnant with her boyfriend's baby. According to Nalini, “My dream was over before it had even begun.”
Pregnant, isolated, and with no money, her life was thrown into complete chaos. Confronted by the conflicting forces of motherhood and a demanding music career, she encounters God along the way. Despite the unexpected rejection from her Church community, she pursues her faith with deep conviction.
This unexpected diversion may have come as a shock, but it actually became the catalyst for a far-reaching career.
