Peter Frampton is currently on the road performing a raw acoustic tour. Just him and that six string. Turns out he once had a moment with David Bowie almost like this. David was a student in Peter's Dads class. It led to an incredible friendship. To the point of David opening for Peter's band... it was just David and a 12 string guitar.
