Did you know 90% of our senior population wants to age at home? Our guest, Meetcaregivers Founder Florence Furaha, has made the process easier, safer and 50% more affordable than traditional services - and she doesn't have a tech background!

With years of experience as a caregiver, and after earning her MBA at Babson College, Florence saw a problem in the caregiver space and founded Meetcaregivers, a Massachusetts based platform using online and video technology to help families safely find and connect with qualified caregivers.

Families can go to the website and watch one to three-minute videos of caregivers in their area talking about their experience, skills, background, and availability. These videos help families get to know the caregivers before scheduling interviews.

Meetcaregivers is easier and safer than job boards such as Craigslist and Care.com. It pre-screens the caregivers and handles payments and insurance, so families never have to worry. How wonderful is that?

I saw Florence pitch Meetcaregivers at a recent pitch contest here in Boston, and I knew you would benefit from hearing her startup insights and stories – I’m so delighted she said yes when I asked her to join me for a conversation, and I know you'll love her startup story.

Funding, scaling, finding a CTO and managing her mindset, Florence shares the best insights for all founders who are launching, branding and building a business.

Meetcaregivers' mission and vision is beautifully summarized in this comment from Florence:

"According to Triple A and almost every senior that I've talked to, 90% of seniors want to age at home. They really don't want to be moving to a nursing home or an assisted living facility, so it's very important for us as a society to keep them there because that's where they want to be, and then just make it possible for them to age there in the safest way possible."
