As part of Alphabetti Theatre’s Listen Up project comes the fourth of nine short plays written by underrepresented writers in the North East.

It’s hard to talk about the thing you really want to talk about, especially if you’re British – Tea? When Sam goes over to her ex-Rob to use his washing machine, he hopes to be able to talk all things they never were able to finish…A comedy drama about so much more than dirty clothes.

Directed by Paula Penman

Dramaturged & Produced by Ali Pritchard

Recording, Editing & Sound Design by Matt Jamie

Performed by Craig Fairburn & Hannah Walker

Assad grew up in the west end of Newcastle, in a bustling Asian neighbourhood full of loudness and drama, where his love for storytelling was born. He’s fascinated by human nature and how we navigate relationships, ambitions, fears and everything in between. He’s had the privilege of exploring these as an actor and now curious to explore as a writer
