Donald Trump's Republican surrogates are willing to go to any lengths to provide political cover for their indicted hero. Despite his criminal offenses, Trump was not pursued by prosecutors while he was in office as President. This is done in order to gain the support of the base and further their own political ambitions and power. To them, the rule of law means nothing when it comes to advancing their own agendas.
