Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, says the BBC and Daily Trust will face consequences for glorifying terrorism in their reporting.
Mr Mohammed says the BBC and Daily Trust have recently published documentaries containing interviews with bandit warlords adding that such reporting gives legitimacy to terrorism.
He says the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission are also aware of these incidents and are looking at which part of the broadcasting codes have been violated by both the BBC and the Daily Trust.
