@Iyanu, my first advice to you is JOIN PMI Nigeria community. Consider joining PMI Nigeria Youth Club. For you to practice project management in the marketplace, it’s not enough to have a university certificate in Project Management. Just like every other professionals like Architects, Builders, Doctors, Engineers, Pharmacists, Nurses, Teachers, Lawyers, etc, you need to be certified more like licensure to ensure that only competent, capable and ethical individuals practice the profession. This is to avoid quackery in the industry. So, most organizations will seek to employ PMs or Project leaders with requisite and relevant experiences and of course proof of PMI certification; PMI being the world’s largest Project Management organization and having the world’s largest community of project managers. PMI offers several project management offerings, courses and continuous learning opportunities to ensure progressive PM education, research and development in the field of PM. More importantly, PMI advocates for global best practices through PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conducts. Through PMI local chapter membership, several opportunities including job opportunities, mentorship, career development, networking and strategic partnership and collaboration are harnessed or established among members in our Nigerian PMI community.
